Active Control of Noise & Vibration (ANC)

The concept of “Active Noise & Vibration Control” has been utilized by A2Zound in a wide range of applications.

For example, A2Zound has successfully designed and implemented an ANC system which reduces the boom noise induced by the engine in a SAAB 9-5. (picture above)

Based on a profound understanding of dynamics, and the ability to characterize sound and vibrations, active technology can be used to control sounds and/or vibrations globally, that is, actually absorbing unwanted dynamic energy. Alternative active systems may reduce the dynamic response locally, but often add dynamic energy and thereby risk reduced general comfort, or damaging a structure from an increase in vibration amplitude.

A2Zound has the knowledge and experience to design and realize active systems which control sound and vibrations, utilizing control algorithms, actuators, sensors, and methods of total system design. The objective is a system with a balance between performance, intrusion and cost.

A2Zound also support customers using Active Systems from third parties in the definition, development and implementation phases.
